Dizziness
Treatment in the home
- Sit or lie down until the dizziness has stopped
- Do not attempt to do things such as drive or carry on with your job
- Sit and stand slowly
When to go to the doctor’s
- If the dizziness is recurrent
- If it interferes with any activity especially if this involves machinery or heights
- If you are on treatment and your BP is low
Go IMMEDIATELY if;
- You’ve had a recent head injury
- You also have a headache or other neurological symptoms such as blackouts, double vision, tinnitus, vertigo, numbness or weakness.
- You have recently become deaf particularly if your deafness has only occurred on one side
- You have previously had ear surgery
