Participation Patient Group

Are you proud of your local Surgery…...or would you like to see changes and be able to influence these?

With changes in the NHS and real opportunities for it to become more of a patient driven service, we are keen to involve more of our patients in this process. The NHS has to find savings of £20 billion a year (£245 millions across all NHS organisations in Derbyshire between now and March 2014) at the same time as endeavouring to improve care and serviced already offered and to implement new ones.

Here at the Surgery we currently have a small Patient Participation Group who meet bi-monthly on a Tuesday evening. We would like more patients to be involved to help shape both the services which we offer locally, and understand the “bigger picture” in the NHS. To be fully representative of our patient list we would particularly welcome teenagers to those in their 50’s.

We appreciate that everyone has busy lives and other commitments and cannot always give time to attend meetings. For those patients there will be an opportunity to take part in short surveys via email or via our website feeding back their views and comments. We also welcome email or telephone calls giving us your ideas or comments on our services.

If you are genuinely interested in the future of the NHS and services provided locally please email or telephone:
