Sunburn
Treatment in the home Avoid through;
- Going in the sun between 11 am and 3 prime minister when the sun is at its strongest
- Putting on sun cream of at least SPF 15
- Covering up any areas prone to burning e.g. your shoulders, neck, back and face
If you do get burnt;
- Rest
- Keep out of the sun
- Wear light, loose clothing
- Soothe using calamine lotion, by bathing in cool water or by applying after sun cream or gel
- Painkillers may be given in appropriate doses to relieve the pain
When to go to the doctor’s If the sunburn is severe or blisters
